'84 1965a cab. I've been keeping an eye out for one to show up that wasn't ridiculously priced, or 'local pickup only' or asking way too much for shipping when I found this one the other night listed from GC and I ordered it. It was delivered this afternoon. It's obviously been well used so it's not mint, but other than a few dings in the tolex, a little grime and a few missing screws on the back panel it's in pretty decent shape. I cleaned it up, replaced the missing screws, checked the ohms and tried it out. It sounds great!

I was happy to see that the whole baffle is slanted, not just the top speakers...

Well guys, I returned the cab this morning. As cool as it is, it just didn't do it for me like I hoped it would. My 212 cab with Creambacks sounds much better and I just couldn't get "my sound" dialed in with it so I returned it rather than have it sit here collecting dust.

I suppose it depends on the amp my Express amp sounds good with the creambacks and harsh with EVM12L speakers
The 1960 Fender Concert amp sounds great with 4 x 10 it has a warm mid range unlike Marshall's
I did own a 8 x 10 Marshall cabinet in the past dated 1968 sounded good with a 1959 Super Lead 100 moving it was not fun sold it.

I agree with 67plexi, It depends on the amp. A 12" speakers has fuller sound than 10". 2X12 and 4X12 are better cabs than this 4X10. I think the 1965A sounds good on an Astoria Custom and on a JTM45 too. The best of this 1965A it's his low weight and very portable IMHO. But If you couldn't get a good sound it's a perfect reason to returned It.
