Well, we got another gig under our belts.

This one was much different. It was indoors at night, instead of outdoors during the daytime. It was pretty high energy and there was pretty lively audience participation.

We hired a photographer for this one so I should have some decent pics in a few days. She sort of specializes in concert photography. It is probably the first time I’ve really experienced a photographer moving on the stage getting shots of the band.

In the mean time, here are a couple of shots I got:

I didn’t know this before the gig, but the owner of the venue just decided to add live music. We are the very first band to have played for him. He was pleased enough that he wants to book us for the next few months, at least. Our drummer made the contact because he has known the owner for some time.

Our bass player has contacts in the Baltimore area, so we may eventually be in your neck of the woods, @chilipeppermaniac !

Eventually, I would hope to do some original material. For the time being, we're really just trying to get a footing. So far, we've gotten very positive responses from venues where we've played and we've gotten invited back. So, it looks like we're getting off to a good start. But, covers are probably where we are for now.

But, lots of respect to you for producing some original material.

Well we had 4 songs in the band that was drama. Part of it was from trying to push for songs too fast, the singer had no life outside of it. My bread n butter is covers and party music gigs!
Just have lots of ideas as does the Whiplash singer so might as well! It also opens up more venues here.

Yeah, party music is our thing, too. We bill ourselves as a “variety party band.” Actually, it’s a lot of fun. Sometimes the songs are very guitar-centric and I’m more in the spotlight, so to speak. Other times, the bass or keys are the more prominent pieces, and I’m more or less just playing in the pocket. Either way, I‘ve had to learn a wide variety of tunes, which has been both challenging and rewarding.

We play for fun amd add extra guitar to lots. Just play amd have fun.
