I didn't go looking for it, hadn't been planning to buy another guitar (certainly not another Firebird) but I had a bro in need of quick cash and took this off his hands. It sounds and plays as good as it looks.

Oh, yeah, its a 2015 Limited Edition. Fat '50's style neck, which feels very much like the one on my Les Paul Traditional. The sound is not like a regular reverse Firebird: It's a bit smoother, almost SG-like, and doesn't have the bite that the neckthroughs do but makes up for it with a great snarling midrange sound. I like the tone just as much as my other 'birds, but for a different reason.
It's a pretty heavy guitar...Haven't weighed it but I'd guess slightly over 8 pounds, and the non-reverse body somehow feels larger than the reverse bodies but I think that's a illusion and it's actually a bit smaller.

Need to change your ambassadorship------

Ambassador of BIRDS!

I know, right? I never planned to have 3 Firebirds, it just worked out that way, but it coincided with me playing my Firebird V perhaps more than any of my other guitars. Maybe its a phase but right now they are ticking all my boxes (though on Saturday I spent about 3 hours with the 79 Custom and the tone of that guitar never fails to leave me speechless).

Well-- Ill helpo ya out --- send me ALL YOUR NON FIREBIRDS--- you know -- so the BIRDS dont get jealous ;)

Thanks all. It's an incredibly nice, if unexpected, addition. The circumstances weren't great: a good friend really needed money fast and he knew I'd coveted this guitar since he bought it so I was able to help him out, but I let him know that if he's ever in the right position and wants it back he can buy it back no problem.

I mean the control lay out doesn’t look “bad” in my opinion, just interesting. The one that’s in line with the jack just made me wonder if it was a push/pull or one of those new kill-switches like what epiphone has been doing on some of their stuff.

Took me a little time to figure them out and still not used to them, but it is 2 vol/2 tone. The two top knobs, in line with the output jack, are the neck volume and tone. The two that angle down toward the lower bout are the bridge volume and tone. Definitely not my favorite control layout ever, but getting used to it, and still better than a Strat's.
