Haven‘t played through them yet. Gonna do that today hopefully. Robert has far more stick time on his set.

Ok, the best part - to me - is these speakers do not "color" your tone. Instead of the pronounced midrange spike of the Greenback, these are a faithful reproduction of your amp's tone.

They never "break up" (which is distortion) and the story from Celestion is, the concept started out as a "secret speaker" designed to handle Blackmore's 200 watt Marshall Majors, which eventually evolved into a modern offering with ventilated voice coil, Neodymium magnets and premium cone materials.

Think of it like a EVM-12L that doesn't weigh 18 pounds each.

My custom-built, marine-grade mahogany 2x12 cabinet - with (2) Celestion Copperback 250's - weighs only 24 pounds...

@Headache - my tone is not for everyone, but you wouldn't believe how this cuts through in a live band mix.

This is my 50 Watt Origin Head (hot rodded by @syscokid) into my 2x12 Celestion Copperback Cabinet with no FX pedals, recorded in a hardwood-floored room, from 3 feet away with a SM-57.

Signal was split onto 2 channels in Audacity.

I always come back to that kind of chain saw tone...lol

I love it! Bright and razor sharp tones!
I've been really intrigued by the Copperbacks lately, thank you for sharing!

Really nice Molly !
I found this the other night never thought twice about the name but funny story how they names the band.

Founder Dave Hlubek once sharedhow the band came upon the name Molly Hatchet, following several name changes.

“There were six of us in the band,” he told Dean Guitars. “We took a John Deere Tractor hat and everybody came up with three names apiece and put them in the hat. We did it like the lottery. We said that whatever name was pulled out of the hat, by God, was going to be the name of the band. Well, the 18th name, the only one left, was Molly Hatchet! We said, ‘What the f### is that?’ It started out, ‘Molly F###ing Hatchet.’ Everyone was saying, ‘Whose the girl in the band?’ People of Jacksonville took it upon themselves to start making bumper stickers. We just kept the name. Who in the hell is Molly? It’s like, what’s in a name! Molly was an axe murderous. Her name was Abigail something. The history books called her Hatchet Molly. She was some passion killer.”
