Funny...Lefty here...and I do much the same as you describe. It’s dependent on the task at hand, of course, but I grab the solder roll with my left hand first. The iron just needs to find its home, but the solder must feed gracefully.Righty all my life.

I generally let Johnson hold the iron. Then I can use one hand to feed the solder and the other to hold things in place with a pair of pliers. Can go either way.
A camel has 2 humps. A dromedary has 1 hump. RJ Reynolds does not know the difference between a 1 hump wump, and a 2 hump wump.Camel filtersThis has really peaked my curiosity of making friends with Giraffes.
Are Giraffes friendly?
Or are they like Lamas, who spit on humans?
I once tried to befriend a Lama, but I discovered that Lamas don't really like humans so much.
In fact, they sort of puke on humans.
Elephants are more friendly than Lamas.
Then we could consider this:

The "camel" on the package is a dromedary. Not a Camel.
What's wrong with my country?
(Oh, everything)
Now, getting back to soldering: Camels cannot solder because of their toes. They have no disposable thumbs, therefore they cannot hold a soldering iron, as Giraffes so frequently do.

When I golf I drive right but put left.
So I have tendencies I guess.
What are these “disposable” thumbs, of which you speak?
It would be cool if I could pick up a package of these disposable thumbs. That way, when I’m done using one set of thumbs, I could just throw them out and put on a fresh pair.
Next trip to Home Depot...
I can't even play right handed air guitar.
I was playing a solo on my air guitar last night, and snapped the high E string.
Only on my VHave you ever played air guitar using an air Gibson and got the high E caught between a nib and the fret?
I hate it when that happens.
You obviously need a wound high E string.I was playing a solo on my air guitar last night, and snapped the high E string.
Albert King told me the same thing. He calls 'em "Telephone Poles."You obviously need a wound high E string.
no really that opening pic.........how did you get images of my soldering iron?!?!?!?!
