The sounds are great. The only problem was that for a good while there every guitar player had exactly the same sound because every one of them was using a modded Marshall. I love Marshalls too, but I switched to Mesas a long while ago because they are a little too ubiquitous.

That's why I always stuck with JTM45s and Hiwatts. I've never really been a fan of the JCM or later amps. Great amps, but different strokes for different folks. Now I'm using the Hiwatt side of my DST amps because they are only 50 watt amps as well as my two JTM45s, and my Matamp. They are all great foundations to build a great sound on.

If I didn't own a few Marshalls, I'd probably would've already had a Mesa at some point by now. I had a 5150 briefly and it didn't gel with me despite knowing now that it's an immensely popular amp in metal. But to me, a Mesa is the Yang to Marshall's Yin: the inversion of a Marshall in nearly every way, namely trading the famous Mid Range hump and rawness for a darker and smoother sound.

Someone said it best: you can be a little sloppier and looser in playing with a Marshall than a Mesa because the Mesa will rat you out every time. It seems to reveal imperfections. Maybe that's why I like Marshall in the end, because i can hide in it lol

Well, that may explain my love for Marshalls...

But I actually have a non-Marshall that I'm also quite fond of.
Egnater Tweaker 40w is an awesome (IMO) 6L6 amp with chime-y cleans to crushing high gain.
Hard to find a good vid of this amp - mine sounds way better.
Might be the speakers because is sure ain't my playing skills.
But this dude does a good run through all the cool switches.

I’ve had a few pretty cool amps over the years. But my quest for amps came to a screeching halt when I found this.

I played the 40w Iconic combo at GC when I bought my Les Paul and that amp really has the tone. I heard all the non sense talked about but the talkers (arm chair qB's) never played one.

I debate one. I do.
But I have so many good and great amps to play now.

Got the 900 on 2x12 with with well seasoned v30/t75, Interestingly, my gain is set lower than ever and very much enjoying this amp. Love it dimed but working some strats in, there is a lot of classic Marshall tone in there.

Really have to give the DR its props. Looking forward in Marshall amps & Backwards in time, and also having owned a ton of them, landing here on the DR has basically solved my M situation with 1 amp, Also the clean & reverb is above average if not tasty in its special own EQ range.
