who is SIlvan?-- where are these fellas from? GM -- are they Dutch?
I have done this -- back ot back with LOW watt modeling amps here in the doom room -- the Fender Mustang -- and VOX Valvetronix are killer mimics...for very little $
I do like the tubes though----
it depends on you and what you want -- and what makes YOU smile
Probably not completely fair to call a Kemper a modeling amp since its a very different technology. They're cool because they are versatile and great for practice and writing. I have a good friend that uses one for those purposes but wouldn't dream of using it for recording or performing.
In that video at least it's the Princeton by a mile, then the Kemper then the Ox (which sounds pretty horrible IMO).
Maybe just another example of confirmation bias but I still don't think the digital stuff comes close.
What I still hear a lot of from guitar players with regard to digital amps is people rationalizing their use...as in: "No, it doesn't sound as good as a real amp but it can ___________ and it's ___________ and I save ___________." Fill in your own blanks.
I'll stick with tubes personally until such time as I don't have to fill in those blanks.
I got that 120 watt VOX dirt cheap I don't use it but have let others play it. This is my practice and live amps VOX-AC 15 with a marshall plexi channel and the 1960 Fender Concert amp.
