LA is littered with music shops and great deals to be had, just gotta look around. When I still lived there it was constant temptation. Now that I am in San Diego my impulses have really settled down.
What night are you going to see Rush? We are going on Thursday, which I think is actually the first date of the tour.

Cool. My buddy that I am going with thought Thu was the first date, apparently not.
The gear hunting is not as good as it used to be but its still the best other than Nashville. When I first moved to LA in the mid 90s there were a staggering number of little shops but many have folded or gone online.

There used be decent deals at a couple of guitar centers but not now.
I bought a JCM 900 DR from Craigslist years ago, best deal ever.
Rush opens on the 7th at the Forum, then they skip every other night ending their stay on Saturday before going off to Mexico.

I envy you guys that live in an area where there are good deals to be had on good gear. When I was growing up near Tampa (back in the 80s and early 90s) it was that way, but not so much anymore. Where I live now is like living in the desert when looking for local deals. Most of what's available is junk and if it's not they want way too much for it.
