Alternate tunings are a way to freshen things up

You know.... in terms of creativity and songwriting.

It can be useful and refreshing to grab a guitar and pick an alternate tuning - and then just noodle on that guitar over a period of time.

I knew this of course - but hadn't done it in a loooong time.... until just recently....

I decided I wanted to learn Jimmy Page’s "Bron‐Yr‐Aur" - which utilizes that unusual C tuning. But just having my baby taylor in that tuning has inspired me to go a little crazy with new creative ideas.

Super fun.

About all I do is Drop D and sometimes when I feel like getting my Neil Young on, I’ll do Double Drop D. But I really should explore some of the other alt tunings.
