Almost brought a tear to my eye: A New Hope!

Being as this is made public by the school's counselor, I can show this without any issues. But as the school year is nearly over, my daughter's elementary school hosts a talent show of sorts. It's all for fun obviously and it's cool they do this for them.

But this kid here, man. Makes the world not seem like such a crappy place and comforts me to know that even in podunk areas such as mine, there IS hope for the future of rock/metal and guitarists alike. He won last year with a rendition of Paranoid by Sabbath and he played it right! Now, this 9-10 year old kid is stepping up his game and pulling out the big guns.

Check this out ( skip to 56:45).

I told my daughter, I'll go full on Jack Black ala School of Rock and fake teacher sub just to jam with this little dude lol

Awesome!
I still struggle with that and have not quite got it.
I don't know whether I am inspired ....... or suicidal....... lol.
I completely relate lmao told my wife " well, at least there's one guy in this area that can play it, because I officially give up"

Explains that. Unless they pop up on the local hard rock station, most likely I don’t hear much Maiden.

Have I mentioned Gordon Lightfoot? :pound-hand:
Lol hey I liked Gordon as well! Maiden is a strange case in that they never got much air play throughout their existence and almost zero MTV recognition, yet somehow still went onto to sell 130million units over 17 albums, so averaging about 7.6million in sales per album. Purely a word-of-mouth building of fans, but these days are a marketing superpower with merch

Over the years I have liked a lot of music. Didn’t always have the funds to feed that habit, so I had to be a bit more choosy as to what albums I purchased. I think I woulda/coulda liked Maiden…. Just didn’t buy any music. Take KISS. Always liked their music. Didn’t buy my first album till somewhere in the 2000s…. And then the one I got was their MTV Unplugged album. Which is very good by the way. However, by some weird twist…. I have more solo Ace albums than I do KISS. “Shock Me.”

Solo Ace was great! Like Frehley's Comet? Best solo project out of the 4 KISS members

That youngster nailed it man.
And I have never learned that song either.
I had only learned 2 Maiden tunes back when I was a younger version of myself, Killers, an Wrathchild.
But I would be hard pressed to play them now …
Lol
Lol there was a time where I sat out to play about everything I could get my hands on of theirs, when I was still a teen. These days? Ugh, I could probably remember a handful maybe? Aging sucks lol

Theres a lesson here also .Hes playin a 100$ guitar and a 30 $ amp and sounds great.Good job kid. Lesson is ya dont need a 5 grand Gibson to sound good.
My son has the same exact guitar and a very similar amp, but won't sit down and practice.....I need to have him start trailing this kid around like a shadow and learn something lol
