I seem to have lost getting any alerts for a day or so. Anyone else, or did I accidentally render them inop somehow?

Go check preferences on your profile and make sure all the alerts and notices are checked

Lack of funds, Norm. It was all I could do to spend $200 on my last guitar and still have a few bucks in my bank.
OH and I still need a couple thou for a root canal and crown etc.

Good news Bdon,
I finished a job for my friend rebuilding his dad's brick steps. It took me forever, but I mighta made $1000 ( friend rate)

Then, I managed to sell a car trailer I paid $800 for on Friday. However it came with a catch. I actually bought the trailer a couple years ago and wound up netting a small crane on a truck frame, plus a roll up garage door. BIG and HEAVY.

Well, I listed the crane for sale, and said if a buyer wanted to add some $$$ I would sell the crane and trailer combined. Lucky me I got a nice $1300 profit and still might get more if I can manage to sell Roll Up door.

Hopefully I can find another chunk source of funds to pump up my savings so I can finally get my dental work done. It has only been 2-3 years since I saw the dentist for it. Luckily no pain in all this time.

Nope, AT, I got neither Private messages nor notifications of anyone's comments, reactions or quotes of any thread in about a day or 2 stretch. Then I made the thread and things went back to normal.

Also AT, I have a school friend who has lived in Sweden for maybe 15+ years now. The name of his town is hard to remember, but I would like to see if you know it sometime.
