Album Cover Art:

Hey, Guys...

I am thinking about changing the title, from "Distant Worlds" to something like "In Exile" or something that makes reference to the figure in the image being alone, misunderstood...an outcast.

What you guys think????

You can decide what images YOU think will best describe the music inside. Pick a bunch that you think are close and throw them out there. However, this requires a degree of objectivity and you are up close and personal with these songs. Another approach is to get people to listen to the music and ask them what images it congers up. The group (or sample) should be large enough and varied enough, but within your general target audience for the most part. Whichever image recurs the most is a winner.

I should mention that this is how I was told Nickleback decides on lyrics and they are scorned for it!!

Good point....

Better, a bit redder perhaps, and change the RHP to a metallic silvery effect.

Think actual eclipse

I know it's a transit.....working quickly.

I tried it redder, and it looked all wrong - very fake. I think this is about as far as it wants to go. Text colour? I tried reddening that too, and it also looked weird - and not in a good way.

I didn't keep my original layered file, so I can't make the text silver without screwing up the rest of the picture.

So, getting to the question of what I expect to hear by seeing the album cover...well...that's not so easy.

But, I'll tell you my very first impression: binaural beats.

Yup, as weird as that sounds.

That's not a bad thing; it's just the first impression I had.

I like the more reddish look. It adds a sense of tension.

It makes me think less of binaural beats and more of drone metal.

Weird, again. I know.

Of course these are just ideas we're kicking around. It's Robert's opinion that matters.

Sure, understood.

But, it does take a bit of humility and courage on his part to put it on the forum for so much input. Putting ego aside and inviting varying and, perhaps, differing opinions is a thing many guys would not do.

As for the ideas that have been kicked around and what you've done to bring them to visual reality, personally, I think has been a positive collaboration.

Agree totally. But what I'm thinking is that we have moved from useful general concepts to fine detail - which is where our usefulness diminishes somewhat. Robert put the artwork out here (as you say, courageous), but obviously he has more people like band members who need a say in the final look too.

Agreed!!!

TBTH, I have never liked using my name in the title...I am not really sure how that came to be..it just did...and I have been thinking about changing the band's name to something less personal.

What's you guy's opinion???
