AHH Yes the Stratocastor

They were polarizing when they came out and never sold very well. I dig it because its kind of weird. That middle pickup is not a single-coil, its a stacked humbucker and when you combine it with either of the regular ones it makes tones I have never heard in any other guitar.

Its unique.

Late to the party.
I dig Clapton a lot, especially the Mayall Beano record and Cream.
The Gibson era stuff more for the tone and American blues inspired gritty British electric blues rock.

I also like much of the strat era stuff, more for the overall songwriting, but I also like the strat tones and his playing.

To me, "Wonderful Tonight" is one of the most beautiful songs ever.
It is our #2 wedding song.

I feel blessed been chasing Band of Gypsy's sound since the LP was released now I have it took long enough

Jimi is listening...

I still think Hendrix was the best rhythm player at the time, or maybe still. Everyone raves about his lead playing, but totally miss what is going on in the rest of the song. That is why his songwriting was so good.

Good point, @SG John - i sometimes hate the fact that the rhythm work is so hard to hear behind the leads.

Scored a very dirty Squier SE strat yesterday which appears to be complete and in great condition under all the garage dust, grime, and dirt.
Gave me the amp; didn't want it but maybe some useful parts there.

Full 1.75" thickness body = good mod platform. I'll clean it up, string it and play it a bit before making any changes.
