...just kidding :pound-hand:

Yeah, the SG is not for everyone. I love them but don't have one at the moment because I love other guitars more. It's OK.

One idea, instead of routing for a full-size humbucker maybe try something like these: http://www.seymourduncan.com/pickup/little-59-strat-neck

I've had really good results using the SD Strat-sized 'buckers. They give you the balls and warmth (and lack of noise) of a humbucker but retain the essential "strattiness" that makes the guitars unique.

I'm even planning a 24-3/4" scale pre-CBS headstock Stratocaster neck to kill the Strattiness....:sneaky:

Playing the 1987 Squire with no effects through Marshall DSL40C. This is played on the GFS Double Slug 13.9k Bridge pickup with the middle pickup (a 10k GFS Tru-Coil Hum cancelling) switch on as well...No doubt this sounds dry without delay, but it gives a better evaluation of the guitar's tone...

Very good indeed.

"All that tone will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."

R.I.P. Strat. There's still time. Don't do that, Robert.
