I have pots and caps, cloth wire, a CRL switch, and Gibson humbuckers on hand, so its a cheap upgrade...

So, the idea here is to use what 'junk' I have on hand to closely duplicate the SG's setup:

No real 'enviable' parts in this project - a recycled Gibson 500T with a 498T magnet swap, a 496R for the neck...pole pieces set to a 12" radius...
Got some new 500k CTS pots today, i have good, used K40Y tone capacitors (a .022uf & .015uf) on hand...found my CRL switch and have plenty of cloth wire on hand.
I did find a really nice large headstock Wenge neck with a 1950's 'U' profile that would be great on this project too...

@smitty_p - look close...I never liked the way you didn't have some slack in soldering the ground braid on vintage-style pickups. My solution was to wrap a piece of wire from an old harness and make my own adjustable ground lead, which I shrink wrap after cutting it to the desired length...

Got a trio of CTS pots ordered this morning, measuring 550/560k. Picked up a .033uf and a 0.01uf tone capcitor...also a pair of .022uf's, so I can dial in the middle position tone.
