I may have posted this a few years ago. I don't think so. I rediscover this every year or so. I've been listening to B/S all day. It's amazing how their sound is so developed back then and how energetic Ozzy is as a kid (he's already biting things (broom)). The lyrics of War Pigs are cool (quite a bit different).

People said Black Sabbath was demonic. War Pigs is the most passionate anti war song I've ever heard. Many of their other songs (and Ozzy's) preach love and peace. They're most definitely not demonic.

I first heard War Pigs in the Summer of 1979 in music class. It immediately had a deep effect on me.

When BS got started they were pretty unique. Some will argue they birthed heavy metal. Would you reckon the style music that was destroying our ear drums is part of the demonic hypothesis? And let’s face it. Ozzie is not or ever was “normal.”

I thought I was the only one. His singing voice sounds fake. It's not, but it sounds it. He sounds like a mumbling drunk when talking, but sings normal.

I love this so much. Black Sabbath has been, is, and will continue to be the most important band in my life and they literally determined my very taste in music from an early age. There was nothing that sounded like them at the time and to this day every metal/stoner/doom band that I listen to has Sabbath's musical DNA in their sounds.
