A really short one

Very important.
Dead EMGs sound like complete ass, and IME, it was rare enough that when it did happen, the battery was the last thing I would think of....I'd drive myself crazy trying to figure out which cable or jack I was having problems with until it would finally dawn on me, "duh...check the battery...". But I would invariably forget to unplug it from time to time anyway lol

I’m always afraid I’d make the same mistake as well! If next week paycheck looks pretty decent I’ll probably grab a couple packs of 9 volts and go ahead and change them out. Right now I’m not getting any drop in output but I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be gradual as the battery is dying or if it’s just all of a sudden go to crap mid playing.

In my only guitar with EMG pups I changed it out every 6 months !!
