A really short one

Chasfred for the SCORE! derailed in 40 minutes....on post 2--- your getting good at this--- ;)

Metal-- love that guitar man -- it sounds.......(oh come on----) SWEET! :2Thumbs:

Thanks!!! I think i still consider the EMG 57-66 pickups my favorite but those seymour duncan blackouts in the swapped configuration.... I mean at times its a toss up on maybe edging out the EMG's for that spot in my mind. I mean don't get me wrong, the guitar itself is gorgeous but i think it was the curiousity of those pickups that really got me to pull the trigger on it and im not disappointed at all. The newer Michale Sweet signature Washburn has fishman pickups in it that has a recharge port, so you plug it in like your phone but i couldn't find that for less than $3,800 LOL! I mean, really my only real gripe with the guitar is the 9volt cavity is the one where you have to unscrew 2 screws instead of like my Faulkner v which has the EZ access...but....very minor gripe :P

can you "retro fit" an easier cavity cover?
I’m sure it’s possible, the thing is, I’m not convinced it’s entirely necessary. I’ve had my Richie Faulkner V for 10 months now, it still has the original battery in it. I havnt had to change out the battery in my Jackson yet either. Of course on that one I don’t remember if I put the original battery back in it when I was having issues with getting the pickups to work that one time.

yes-- depending on the hours of play (and if your certain to UNPLUG them ) they last a LONG time-- I only have 1 active t the moment (Sterling S*U*B Ray) and it has the same battery for about a year or so now-- I peak every so often though to make sure it hasnt leaked....

Exactly! I think I killed the active bass boost in my bass once because I was in the middle of playing then had something come up and had to put it down, forgetting it was still plugged in.

And on top of that, I’ve accepted I’m a studio musician. Every time someone asked me to be the lead guitarist of their band things fell through for one reason or another. Things are on the up and up though, my group of friends channel that I’ve been doing music for are now starting to see money come in from their channel of which I get a piece of. So yea, I’m making a sound track for a table top game but who knows where that will lead to, maybe not playing for Judas Priest alongside Richie himself, but making a comfortable living making music from my own little makeshift studio.

Those batteries last quite a while, as long as you unplug the instrument cable when you aren’t playing it, nice tune and tones on your clip Mat.

Very important.
Dead EMGs sound like complete ass, and IME, it was rare enough that when it did happen, the battery was the last thing I would think of....I'd drive myself crazy trying to figure out which cable or jack I was having problems with until it would finally dawn on me, "duh...check the battery...". But I would invariably forget to unplug it from time to time anyway lol
