A little bit of Bach for you

Yes, Yes, YES!!!

Toccata and Fugue in D minor is of my all-time, favorite compositions!

Nicely done, Don.

That was fantastic! I had no idea you tickled the ivories so well. You are a man of many talents!

The story - As a little kid, even though I had no kind of a god belief I used to go to my local church regularly just for the music. As a six-year-old it was my only access to live music, so I sang in the choir and learned organ for free before the sunday morning service. That was when the organist was rehearsing that day's music, and he would spare me half an hour, then an hour as I got better. I even stood in for him on occasion.

I always thought this would transfer to the piano quite easily - wrong. My piano playing is hopeless. On the piano the note happens when you press the key, not some time later depending on the pitch of the note. I find that really confusing.

Late to the party as usual.
Wow, just ...wow, Don that is just great.
Sanctuary!!
I dont anything about this piece but it reminds me of the early 1990's films of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

WOW

seriously no joke damn good playing wait church uhm ---anti damnational playing?????

You did a nice job on that.

Yes.
Piano and pipe organ are very different.
When you press a pipe organ key a lot of mechanical
stuff has to happen before the pipe actually speaks.

(A lot of mechanical stuff happens in a piano too
but it's all right there instead of scattered all
over the cathedral the way a pipe organ is.)

Much better than this guy :) Say Don thought you didnt like churches----or God ---or that whole religion thing...............

No gods, no religions, but I'll go for music wherever I find it (I like churches, just hate all the harm done in them by the owners). That includes this banjo guy - that was nicely played.

Extremely well played!

I got into classical at 14 when I discovered Andres Segovia, arguably one if the greatest classical guitar. players. It opened the door to a whole new realm of music for me.

I hope the link works...

Yes, Segovia is one of my favourite guitarists too. I think on balance I now prefer John Williams though, he combines perfection of technique with just a touch of fluency that Segovia doesn't have. But I think that when I was young, Segovia was the man and he inspired me too. John Williams was just an upstart kid!
