A clean guitar has better tone:

Mojo--- its called MOJO not "dirt" or Grime---

I knew a retired Marine Sgt. that NEVER washed his coffee cup -- only rinsed it----- 22 years ---- one day an enterprising staffer WASHED all the mugs in the conference room------------------I thought he was going to kill her.......and after the verbal barrage she probably wished she had been dead./ Man bitched everyday after that the coffee tasted like shite ............

Mojo

There is something to be said about that. I don't know what to say about it. It all comes out in the wash.

I bought a very large old city house with all the weird items. Two staircases, a couple secret rooms and miles of wood work. I lived and died by that greasy Old English stuff. It can get out of control and might never dry if it knows you are going to put on a light color dinner jacket. Lemon oil on the fretboard every other string change. I wipe the guitar off with that crazy micro fiber cloth before I put them away. I do a good spray of WD 40 down the truss rod shaft for me or the next guy. I think I work on these little devils more than I play them.
