A break for a smoke

Does anybody here -still- smoke?

I understand it's rarer each day. Ans yes, I know it's bad for health.

Still, although I am not a smoker in the literal sense, I fancy a cigarette every now and then, especially Camels

i smoked cigarettes for many years Sergio.i quit about 17 years ago. i enjoyed a good smoke

I smoked for 25 years and gave up about 3 1/2 years ago. Best thing I ever did... I did enjoy smoking, but when I started they were about $3 a pack of 25. Now they are about $28 a pack of $25!
I just can't afford to smoke anymore!

I quit smoking cigarettes last july. I do vape though (9% nicotine, down from 19%). I had pneumonia 3 times last year. My doc said that it was time to quit the cigarettes. I sure can breathe a lot better.

Though I've not smoked in years, just every now and then I'll think about a fine cigar. Then I put it out of my head. However, cigarettes stink to high heaven when I smell them! :poo: But really unlike many ex-smokers, I don't "preach" to smokers as it's their right to choose and I'll not interfere with another's personal rights.

Same here brother. If someone else wants a smoke, fine with me as long as it's not inside my house or car.
My brother still smokes and if he visits, he goes outside if he wants one...

Got to agree with you Terry.
I used to like the first one in the morning (Heart-starter).
Without that, I couldn't operate...

I quit cause back in sept i got a bad case of boniciths if i even smell cig smoke now i get sick it sucks cause i enjoyed smokeing

Premium Marboro is currently about $6-8 a pack of 20 in New Orleans.

Yep. Excise on cigarettes here in Australia are just plain rude... We must be the most anti-smoking country in the world.
All cigarette packets now look the same, in a disgusting green colour, and have massive, uncensored health warnings on them.

And yeah... @Gahr, $6 - $8 is what we used to pay for a pack of 25s in about 1995 also. Have the price of yours in Norway gone up as much as ours in Australia?

I am a cheap bastard -- and cheap bastards---being cheap bastards --have set "in mind" (more like stone) prices for things--- for instance--- in my mind--- (nor in my life) will I ever pay 60,000.00+ for a car--- I just wont--- realistically its NOT worth that to me---- I will not pay 130.00 for a bottle of scotch---I can get just as drunk on 7.00 a bottle rot gut--- and I have tasted both-- the diff aint worth the $ ---the headache the next morning is identical---- I will NOT pay 5 grand + for a guitar--- even if I hit the Power Ball----wont do it---just cant do it----

--- I say all this to make a short story long---- I quit smoking in 1993.........Cigarettes at the time where .93 cents a PACK in ALABAMA........I had it in my mind "I am not paying more than 1.00 for these" ----around July of '93 they added new "taxes" and the price jumped to 1.08 per pack........dropped em, never looked back .

ON ANOTHER NOTE...

HEy Judas.....there is an Italian place in the Quarter---- not far from the French market (oh I miss those Beignets--I still have a friend sends me a can of Cafe Dumonde Coffee every year at Christmas) --- any way---- little sandwich shop made the ABSOLUTE best Muffaletta sandwich in all the state, I can not think of the name to save my life..........dont even know if its still there......man I miss the Food of N.O. and the jazz music just hangs in the air everywhere ya go-----

I think a 20 pack of cigs will cost you somewhere around 125 NOK these days, roughly equalling 15 USD at the moment. I quit smoking in 2000 though, so I haven't kept track of the prices. I still smoke the occasional cigar every now and again (love me a Cuban robusto!), but only very rarely. The last time I had one was in May.

It's expensive and it's bad for you.
Most fire fatalities are from smoke inhalation.
I honestly can't figure out why people do it.

Nothing quite like the first one in the morning and the one after a good meal......... The one after sex can be a toss up. I lite one up one time and she asked if I was smoking... I said I hadn't looked..................... :celebrate2:

Carry on.
