A/B switch recommendation

Anyone have recommendations on a good A/B switch.
Can the AB switch handle the FX loop.
I’m tired of reaching behind my amps and unplugging everything from one FX loop to the next.

So you're wanting to run two different loops and switch them around at random? A typical AB box would do just fine I would imagine. Bit more fine tuned for your purposes however, would be something like this perhaps

No. Its the same Fx I just want to press a switch and have it go from amp a to amp b without having to plug and unplug the send and teturn

For fixed installation? will you not be traveling with it? If yes, then perhaps a patch bay would be of help to you. You could set it up so that you could just switch two jumper cables on the front of the patchbay to swap between amps with ease.

I’ll still stand by the patchbay for this application though…easy as can be…amp loops plugged into the rear, effect chain as well….jumper cables on front panel from effects chain to desired amp loop. Everything stays in place except the jumper cables.

…and yes….you can still use a balanced bay for unbalanced needs…just beware of mixing balanced/unbalanced…May cause hum.

I was typing my last reply when you typed that

I was thinking patch bay too. I use one where the amp get 4 plugs, a 2x2. One for amp in, one each for EL In and EL out. If the amp has a headphones or DI output then that the 4th one. I keep a cheat sheet for the map.

I just ordered the little ART patchbay….I will let you know how it works out for me. I’ve been settling on a setup for my room lately, and have found myself in the same situation(similar anyway). I have 3 amps that have loops, and I’ve been spinning them to run cables to them from the pedalboard etc…
