Cool! But....yeah id have to pass too. Im kind of cheap lolThis popped up in my search filters: Yngwie Malmsteen Owned And Played Original!DOD250 Overdrive Pedal-THE Sound!!! | eBay
Think I'll pass...
I haven’t heard of anyone paying 5 k for one. That’s a YouTube headline designed to grab attention. I have one, it cost $269 or so back in the day. It’s a nice pedal, open and doesn’t shrink the sound. I bet anything the copies are just as good. I like many overdrives
In the video, the Wampler and JHS actually match the Klon which makes it a bit hilarious, as they are literally 2.5% of the cost of the Klon he bought. Couldnt happen to a nicer douche lol A KTR wouldve been a more realistic purchaseThe more affordable, abundant and great sounding a pedal is, the more I like it. Then I buy used ones.
In this day and age, we live in guitar, pedal and amp heaven. Sadly, most modern music is made with a person and a computer.
And yet the old TS9, TS808, SD-1 etc still are among the best selling ODs and used by thousands at literally 50x cheaper than this thing
I use a cheap Joyo Ultimate Drive myself just as a boost thru the front of the amp mainly to tighten up everything. Great pedal especially for the price, though i roll the gain off almost entirely. Its based on the Fulltone OCDI love TS 808s ...I have two original ones that I bought for $30 and two new mini ts 808s. Great pedal, just like the Klon is a great pedal. I also enjoy Lovepedal COT 50, Blackstar HT drive. Chandler tube driver is nice. Tons of wonderful and affordable pedals. What a great world we live in! If it works for you then GREAT. I’m sure I left someone’s favorite out. But I’ll read about that pedal too. They all do the same thing.
I do the same thing with my gain, almost off. I love when everyone else is rocking the gain but for me and how I play, I prefer less gain.I use a cheap Joyo Ultimate Drive myself just as a boost thru the front of the amp mainly to tighten up everything. I read some where he was asked why he doesn't make them or keep making them and his reply is he did the upgraded one is available now meaning the KTR.I was told that you could call the phone number that is on the label inside the pedal, and Bill would answer any questions you may have regarding the pedal, it's function, and if you had issues. I've heard nothing but good stuff about him. Somerville is not far from me, and everyone seems to know each other. I feel bad that he's not getting a part of the $2K -$4K for one of his pedals, but then I'm sure he may be doing alright for himself selling the KTR. I love mine. Enough, that I bought two while I could get them for actual price.
