A $5,000.00 Pedal:

I love gear like the next person, but $5k for a pedal? I dont care how much subtle tones it has over the next clone, for a lot less money you could sacrifice or make it up close enough. The Wampler and JHS sounds close enough if not equal to my ears ( maybe im tone deaf?) An amp or an instrument? I can see paying that kinda dough, but not for one pedal on any day.

But, hey to each their own!

I'm too cheap...

Silliness. Collector goofiness. Bill Finnegan didn't wake up one morning having lost the ability to build Klons...he'll tell you himself he improved them and called them KTRs, which you can buy for 1/10 of what these cost. IMO the Klon thing is pretty overhyped to begin with - they are fine "transparent" overdrives but far from the last word on the subject. There are many better OD's out there.

I bet this guy feels a bit of a fool.
One of the Mods at the Marshall Forum only got $3,000 for his!

I wouldn't spend $5,000 on a guitar and amplifier combination. The most expensive guitar I have ever owned is my 2019 Schecter Hellraiser C1-FR at about $1,200.00 -but I traded three guitars (and one was a genuine Gibson Les Paul) for it.

EVH made some of the best music EVER on a $130.00 homebuilt guitar.

If there is not a revelation in that.... :-)

I have 3 Marshall heads ( 2 of them valved) and 4 Marshall 4x12s and they come in under $5k combined for what i paid for them lol so yeah, $5k would be hard for me to pull the trigger on anything

I love cheap(er) pedals. Simply one of the best "core tone" pedals I've ever had is the Boss BD-2w: $159. And to this day nothing has bested the TS-9/808/SD-1 type pedals for boosting an amp. A TS-9 reissue (which I can attest to sounding identical to the ones from 1982 because I have both) is $100. SD-1's are $49 freaking dollars and all over pro stages around the World. If you really must have a transparent overdrive just get a Timmy and get it over with.

There are times when I've been playing and my mind does the math quickly and for a moment I am shocked at the total investment in the gear I am playing through at that moment, but it's one of only two hobbies I have and in the end my friends that play golf spend a hell of a lot more on that than I do on guitars and watches.

Amen! Theres people who spend thousands on the newest electronics, clothes and even drugs. I find a musical hobby is quite better than all the above lmao

Nothing at all wrong with that!!!!!

Seems a bit pricey,no?

I'm working on a clone.
I have no Idea about circuit but it will be the larger enclosure in gold,
featuring a Male Centaur humping a female centaur and the name in pretty big letters will be "NAILS IT".
:p:ROFLMAO:

Among the myriad of cheap OD pedals I have, when I can play with the amp into breakup, I find myself going back to the lowly TS-5 more often than not.
Sometimes I love my Soul Food, sometimes not so much. Depends on the guitar / pickups and amp.

RAT2 gets a lot of play as well.

i guess you guys wont be buying this anytime soon?

i could never justify to pay that much for a guitar so called ( cheap gear )you can get really good tone and good enough equipment to make music.
