less than 100 hp....................................968lbs --------

107 and 114 and 117 engines[edit]
All engines have eight valves in two cylinders in the traditional V-twin configuration at 45°, are combination of air-cooled and oil-cooled, and activate valves with push-rods. The 107 cu in (1,750 cc) model with a claimed 108–112 lb⋅ft (146–152 N⋅m) is standard on all models, with the 114 cu in (1,870 cc) version making a claimed 119 lb⋅ft (161 N⋅m) remaining as an option on some softails and all touring and trike models, and the 117 cu in (1,920 cc) is standard on CVO models with a claimed 124 lb⋅ft (168 N⋅m) and rear wheel power of 93.75 hp (69.91 kW) @ 4,870 rpm and 112.51 lb⋅ft (152.54 N⋅m) @ 3,400 rpm.[1][2][3] For comparison a 1983 Honda Magna V65 is rated at 116bhp.

So --- its taken Harley almost 40 years.............to get ALMOST the HP of an '83 Honda Magna ............. why ? ---

Oh wait Harley is the Gibson of the motorcycle world --- yep o.k. now I GET IT

everything has to be a '59 burst or its crap ---

ONLY THING THAT WOULD MAKE THIS better IS IF THEY MADE THIS LUMP IN THERE INDIAN FACTORY ............. uhm...............hhmm?????

They did try getting together with Porsche and Miele to create the V-Rod. Nice bike, but only people being brought over from other makes are buying a liquid cooled, square stroke engine from Harley. If they weren't so goddamn small, I'd consider one. I doubt I'll ever buy a new bike though. I already have one that was bought and paid for almost forty years ago.

Agreed the Vrod was/is very interesting.
ANd the Buells where not horrible -- a friend has an 1150

when it runs its stellar .....but not my cup of tea in "comfort" for any thing more than say a track blast...... then you want OFF

I won't discuss Harleys with Adrian.
I am envisioning SG John to be in excess of 6'3 inches in height by his comment about the V Rod.
Being a man of Sub tall height ( never reached 5'10+, A Standard Softtail Harley fits me just right.
In 2008, 3 buddies and I went to Alaska on a cruise out of Seattle. Upon returning to Seattle and having an extra day before flying back to Maryland, we rented 4 different model Harleys and swapped riding each as we cruised around Puget Sound and the Seattle area.

One was a V Rod, a Fat Boy, a Low Rider, and a FLH, I think.

The one I picked initially was this Lowrider.

I had to get used to it due to the Mid positioned footpegs.

I am used to the foot position of this model and it is quite comfortable having my feet out in front rather than underneath me.

This was the V ROD Night Rod we got.

I am. That is a sweet looking V-Rod in that photo. The Low Rider is also nice. If I ever do get a more modern motorcycle, I'd really like a Super Glide. It's just a taller, more comfortable Low Rider, and it handles quite well. It's pretty much how my '59 FLH Pan/Shovel is set up.

John, I had a 2003 Super Glide Sport. Fricking awesome bike. Did a big bore kit, cnc ported heads, high compression with release valves and the 257 cams. It would chirp the back tire on downshifts if you weren't paying attention. It would kick Adrian's poonanny Triumph all to Cuba and back. Wish I still had it.

I cannot wrap my head around how a motorcycle can cost $45,000!

But I'm also so stupid that I can't understand how some brand new guitars can cost $10,000!

Or a "vintage one is $250,000-$400,000!

I actual like Magna's but would rather ride my 1200C....the only foreign cruiser I want might be a Truimph but to me they don't appeal to me more than this.....
