80's Nostalgia

It's funny. I still have those pants, and a few others. Got them all in Germany in the eighties, and early nineties. They're still in nice shape, and I need to lose 45 pounds to wear them again. And, I will eventually.

When I was in the band in those photos, a couple of other guys in the band (drums and guitar) were always pissed off that I had a "Look" or "Image", and they tried to hard to copy it, and they failed miserably. I was just basically wearing stuff I would wear while riding my motorcycle. So, it was my actual street clothes that I was wearing, and not a costume. But I also never did the mullet or a hair style because I worked in a machine shop and rode a motorcycle for primary transportation. My hair was always in a braid or pony tail. I had to be able to hide it, and then at 5:00 (or after parking the bike) it came out of hiding. All funny stuff when I look back at it.
I can faithfully say that I never used any hairspray, and I had a friend of mine just keep cutting the dead ends off. So a non hair style .. and I never wore makeup, except one time I painted my face white with a lightning bolt going down my face. But that was in the 70’s.
Cheers

@Jethro Rocker I had that model of guitar(or similar…I had the neck through/set neck version, with all the silly switches) briefly….I grew to hate the wide, flat, neck profile with a passion. To be forthcoming, a have a childhood hand injury that was aggravated by it…just the edge to edge feel set me off after about 20 minutes of play time…Of course, I only tried it for about 10 minutes at the shop that I bought it from ;)
I wanted the one with all the cool controls! This was bolt on Aria Pro Urchin. Looked funky as all. Wide neck amd awful Strat style whammy. But my first guitar with a bar!!

As for 80's music, I have to admit, I liked a total range of stuff out there and never really found myself turning my nose up at certain bands or genres. I guess I was just all about soaking it ALL in and enjoying myself whether it be Deep Purple, Yes, Rush, or Punk, New Wave, Blues, Dance music, Metal you name it, I checked it out.
My tastes pretty much were rock steady on the big hitters such as Floyd and The Who, Aerosmith and Zep etc. But throw in some fun bands like Kix and Beastie Boys etc, and I was good. I also liked dancing and certain songs with cute girls was always fun, I confess. HECK, I used to like to really love it when someone would get the DJ to play this one. Always a fun time with the ladies.

Look! It's actually a leisure suit! That's so awesome!

mines only 31" now......
I'm wearing 33" 501s right now, but I am ready to go to 32". Might just wear these baggy with a belt for a while and go 31" when I can. I was wearing 30" when I graduated high school. Had gotten back to 30" in 2008 and held it there until 2012 when the hip pain forced me off the bicycle. I was back up to a 36" waist until a year ago. I'm still a work in progress. I love chocolate. And ice cream. And food in general. Don't get me started on beer.
