The build thread is over on the other site, but some of you may remember my 2x12 cabinet build. I finally made a grille cloth for it!

I had an Italian 70's house organ that I carried a block and a half home ( it was sitting by the curb for a week before I snagged it). Anyhoo, I just recently moved and am paring down my belongings. I saved the speaker and some silicon chips but in my C.O.B. wisdom got my Stanley tape measure out and found out I had enough grille cloth to do my 2x12!

Neat!

My cab was at home, I took measurements and went to the shop.

Oops! I was too accurate. I could only get 3 corners of the frame in. Hmmmm.... What to do? I have no hammer at home......

Hey! I have a hammer!

Yup, I used my Strat. The most hammerlike guitar besides a Tele.

I played it after a couple of blows and it was still in tune!

COOL!

Anyhow, here's the before and after of the cab.(sorry, I've had a few beers so I am rambling)FB_IMG_1487395213207.jpg

Thanks Tony. I got 4 free 25 watt Celestions and 2 don't need fixing. Guess what 2 are in the cab?

I paid 75 bucks for the maple plywood and took a few hours and... well... there it is!

I have an Elvis tapestry type thingy that almost became the grille cloth but this stuff is the real deal AND it is Italian! That just oozes style to me.

The blue jean covered 2x8 cab I built has an Italian leather belt for the handle!

I'm cheap but stylish!
