Hey, Santa season is over brother, and you were far too generous then. I'll order the iron, but since I need to upgrade the output tranny, I guess I need to upgrade the power tranny too? Or not? Mongo confused.

nothing wrong with JJ tubes, but it is highly subjective.
the new production 5y3 rectifiers can produce higher voltages than the older stuff.
Sovteks are particularly known for this, from what I recall.

My tubes arrived over a week ago. The caps I ordered from AES were shipped 2 weeks ago. I keep getting update texts from USPS that my shipment has been delayed due to "unprecedented volume increases". Currently sitting at their facility 100 miles north of me for 2 days now.

Caps, etc. showed up today. Going to finish the remodeling of my work area this week. Then I can jump into this build with both feet. Looking forward to the smell of solder in the morning. It smells like... solder.

My board is built with one caveat. All I had on hand was the large turret board, so it only took up half of it. Looks weird. I'm thinking to order a smaller board and save that one for a future build.
