I have been wanting to try a more 59 PAF pair; I dont hate the stock Alnico Classic set, but alot of the reviews are "meh", mostly complaints of muddiness. These are not the newer PRO set that the internet says are better, FWIW.
Enter the Guitarmadness 59'er set. I believe Adrian has spoken favorably of these.
I have used a GM pickups on 2 other guitars and very pleased.

I prefer uncovered on a plain jane SG, workhorse.
The hardest part of pick up swaps for me is holding the grounds in place to solder to the pots. HEY ADRIAN, I said "solder" - BOO!
And getting the dang screws started through the mounting rings with the springs pushing back and everything sliding around!!
The Lighting makes the body look discolored; it is not.
The knobs were off because at least 1 pot was loose and pivoting around in there.
First impressions through Tweed Champ style circuit is the cleans are more articulate, and these are BRIGHT, maybe too bright.
Pushing the amp into OD crunch is very nice, but on the bright side. Adding Boost or OD pedals gets a nice heavier classic rock, still almost too bright but not the shrill of some ceramics. Reminds me of Michael Schenker UFO - almost ice picky at times. Gotta come back farther than usual on the tone pot(s). But that is me acclimated to the stock set too. Only had about an hour last night with them.
More so with the bridge.
If I feel the need, I can swap the bridge magnet from A5 to A2, which will probably be what one of the A2 offerings from GM is.
I have the 57 Special bridge, A2, a bit more woody, but also my impression on that pickup is "brighter than I expected with A2 magnet".
I like them so far over the stock pickups, and still need to finish tweaking pickup and pole screw heights.
And put it through the 18w TMB about 2 LONG hours from now!
