I actually have no idea now, as the pro-and-con debate over tone wood seems to take on a new facet almost daily. I am, however, intrigued that in some the the "Wood Makes No Difference" tone challenge videos, the production actually makes a stronger argument for the "Wood Makes a Difference" perspective. I recall one such (recent) video where the fellow demo's a Gibson, a barn plank guitar and a 2X4 with a pickup on it...and the Gibson was clearly tonally superior in ever respect across the entire aural spectrum.
