5 reasons to sell your tube amp............................

Having watched the above video, I now get a better idea of how the internal clips are designed. Now I can see how to depress them properly in order to press the housing blocks of fuses down and out so I can access the bolts to replace the fuse.

I don't have a problem with that. My Boss cost less than the average trip to the amp doctor with my Fender valve amp. If it pops, which my 15 year old Roland Micro-Cube is showing no signs of doing, I buy a new better model.

I can use headphones at night, record direct or play a gig. All with one cheap, disposable and easily replaceable box.
Please don't edit quotes, it's not polite.
You edited my quote.

The only reason I'd part with my tube amps is if it were impossible to get tubes anymore.

I have heard very impressive modelers and SS lately. Cool.

The only problem I have with digital is the same as others have mentioned - I feel like it is a disposable product, support runs out, no one will fix it, and then the new products claim to be even better.

I heard BOSS is already designing "The One After That" to replace the Nextone. (I know the BOSS amps are SS, but that's just bad marketing)

Example of good marketing :

Again in my opinion, if it sounds plenty good for the end user today, it still will tomorrow unless one is an early adopter of all tech.
I ignore new models of things if the old is very good.
yep-- your probably right............... but
there are literally 100's of FREE (thousands of pay to play models) of digital on line amp sims (got a computer? will you always have one? Will it always function for the most part on the most recent software? As will the free (FREE MIND YOU) amp sims........
also tube amp sims online (free) never need tubes... or chokes-- or repairs... or speakers replaced ....ever

A Marshall 100 watt JVM is 3 grand -- how many decades of amp sim upgrades can I download for free before I spend 3 grand (?)

I can get FREE--and or buy a WHOLE LOT of tones literally almost every modeled tone ever created to this point and not spend anywhere near 3 grand -- which locks me in to 1 "branded" tone. IF you love that tone and only want that tone you are fortunate and can enjoy that tone till the world (or tubes) end. I like the variety that modeling/processing/sims provide.

Personally--- I would find only having 1, $3000.00 Marshall would BORE THE LIVING HELL out of me in about 30 days

per the software/support complaint--quick example --- the fender mustang online support was dumped by Fender last year (?) after over a decade -- however (thanks @WavMixer ) if you SAVED the software suite to run that aspect of the amp -- you still can-- and if you didnt the physical amp itself still works .....works rather well... and you can get a 100 watt one of them for around 200.00 plus all the pedals and amp models within ....... you do not have to have the online "suite" to use the amp the online link is just icing on the cake.
if support runs out after 12-15 years (?) -- well o.k. -- it was a 90.00 amp 12 years ago .... guess its time to plunk down another 90.00 for 15 more years use of the newest tech ;) Hell 12 year run (and amp still works) anyone using a 12 year old cell phone ????

For me any way:
Not really buying gear to "last a lifetime" or for my great grandchildren to inherit --- buying the crap that makes me smile NOW -- or getting it for FREE.
For me, an amp sim on a computer is useless. The JVM has an awful lot more than one tone and is a beast live with the 6 button footswitch. Very versatile. The computer, not so much.
Set up a laptop on the cab?
Yes there are a plethora of pedal amd amp sim boxes as well, many will not touch the JVM.
Plus it's fun and looks damn sexy.
That said, I still like the modeller type amps I have. Different tools for different people.

exactly.(y)

and as you have no need for the computer sims-- I have no need for the JVM -- but I can certainly use 3 grand .... if anyone wants to send me 3 grand please feel free -- ;)
I dont gig -- I dont need a BEAST of an amp I have zero need for foot switches .... the AMpero sits on the desk top.

Different tools for different fools BUWAHAHAHAHAH (thats what the amp makers who sell ALL of the options (digital hybrid solid state and tube) are saying.......... and laughin all the way to the bank)
Fender Corp being one of them -- making 50's reissue tube jobs ...... and pioneering DSp-- then modeling now sims with the likes of AMplitube and Ikmedia

Yup indeed! You have no need for a JVM. Totally!
I use the lil BluGuitar in the office to record ideas. Easy!
The amp makers should make all types of amps in order to satisfy as many customers as possible.
So all the different users can be happy, gigging or home users.

NAw -- humidity was low right now ..only 60-70% range ...thats DRY for here.

-- on a side note semi on topic......
