5 minutes to make a SQUIRE play like a FENDER!?!?!?

Go to a Pawn Shop-- find a good used Squire-- one thats all worn in and plays nice-- pay the 50.00
go home give it a bath new strings and a proper set up-- and you have a Squire that plays like a Fender --- actually BETTER IMHO because I like the raw unfinshed necks-- the FENDERS have the globs of poly or whatever and are sticky---

Fender necks are like you say, Globs of poly or whatever it is, it is sticky. I don't like those necks either.

Fair enough -- I have inlaws up Homer way --- smack my brother in law with it upside the head before you send it -- he wont shoot back or nothing ;) but he will get the joke :)
Gotta say its from ADRIAN though --- or -- guns might come out------

My old 1987 Squire always played good, even when it was brand new. It's had several levels and crowns over the years. I recently re-contoured the fretboard to a 12" Gibson-esque radius, installed the smallest #6230 fretwire I could find and shaved the frets down to .028" to .032" off the board, so it retained that well-worn feel. Other then the bigger distance between the frets (25.5" scale) it's a great old guitar and it actually plays better, more smoothly and articulately than many of the USA Strats I've played recently...
