5 Minutes of No F**ks Given:

I’m like Goo. Sounded fine to me. Very few people can pull off covering Bon Scott or Brian Johnson and not hurt themselves. As for the REO tune. Dolly did REO’s tune Time For Me To Fly. You rocked the house compared to her doing REO. First time I heard her do “Time.....” I think I ended up on rolling on the floor in a fit of laughter.

I recall that version. I guarantee a vocal re-make on 'Take It On The Run' in the near future. I will often gargle with hot whiskey and lemon juice before a really high number, or when emulating female vocals. Sounds crazy, but I learned that trick from working with/around voice actors.

Here's another "No Fux" recording from 1 year ago. This was a live (rehearsal studio) recording of Ace Of Spades that we did, largely because I was challenged that we couldn't replicate the studio version of this song we recorded in a live setting. I haven't posted much about it, because the guitar (the 1987 Squire now owned by Spectre and played through a studio-owned JC-120) sounded too thin to my ears. This is one of the few times I didn't have a DSL40C on hand and no amount of impromptu EQ'ing could give me the same 'punch' I get with my DSL's, but it's still a decent recording.

The 'thump-thump-thump' lead in is me hitting the bridge pickup with my pick to kick things off.

Hope you enjoy this...

Great job on both Robert!
Great on all your playing, on top of that to record tracks and mix it into a song is just so next level stuff.

One interesting thing is how different my guitars sound on Long Way To The Top compared to my other songs.

I ALWAYS run through an EQ and dial up a very punchy, cutting midrange, but on LWTTT, i ran right out of the amp with only the Blackstar's onboard 3-band EQ.

I don't like the thicker tone, but somehow, it just seemed to fit.
