4th Slash Album Drops on ABC Kimmel etc.

I have seen Slash’s Conspirators with Myles Kennedy live after their second album came out and they were awesome live!
They no longer do any G’N’R songs but back then they did. Myles Kennedy sounds great singing Paradise City, etc.

Well, Jethro, I guess we can agree to disagree!
While I admit that Axl is a total A-Hole, for various reasons, I am a very big Slash fan. He seems a very personable and humble guy. Maybe in the past, during his drug fueled G’N’R days, he was arrogant. Now that he has matured and is sober, he seems a right decent fella.
Not having paid attention to anything he ever said that could very well be.
He is so overrated however, IMO, that I just can't be bothered with the time it takes to check anything out about him at all.
Popularity does not equate to talent at all in my books.
Most of it stems from having to listen to Axl in order to hear Slash. Never happen.
Sorry for the bad derail here.
Let the Slash fans speak!

I liked the old "original" GNR -- in the context of being a dumb ass kid in the 80's ....... havent really listened to them in decades....
they certainly have milked the crap outta a couple albums......good for them ....
Gibson loves slash ... and promotes his use of a KNOCK OFF Les Paul like the worlds coming to an end..... they have Gibsons and Epiphones guitars and amps all emblazoned with the SLASH moniker .......... alls fair in love and profit I reckon ....

Going back to watching George CArlin........... ya'll take care now ... take it easy ...............

Ozzy had his own show 15 years ago...

That guy on The Real World back in the early '90s played guitar too.

I, like most here, lived the golden era of G&R. Slash was an unnoted guitar player for Axl much like Sambora was for Bon Jovi in the beginning. Those guys were off the map of even being known let alone noted. I think the only thing Slash was known for was that he was so drunk during photoshoots that they had to prop him up.

Now, Sambora worked his way into very credible success pairing along with Jon vocally that was a match that oozed success. He really did become extremely significant in the band in many ways that gave him the much elevated success and notoriety that he deserves. Like them or not - it's not really the issue.

Slash? He was a corporate decision to be the guy to carry the torch for rock music. This is important because the "rock" industry would crumble into extinction if there is not that one that can play the "rep". Gibson relies on him too and so does Guitar Center and business that rely on the people's faint inadvertent thought of the relevancy of rock. He's been chosen, you could say. He, in reality, is just a regular guy on that ride. That's really it. Nothing really matters until he's gotta throw on the wig hat and make the camera shot for the endorsement. He's probably been "over it all" for years, I bet too.

His playing ability and other factors are not really relevant to what I'm saying so I didn't talk about it. I'm just pointing out why he always seems to be on the tip of the mountain all the time. I think it's a fair assessment. If people like him, umm ...ok. :)

I have never, nor has anyone else I've ever heard, referred to as Slash being the unknown guitarist of Axl Rose. Richie Sambora, yes.... Slash, not even once.

I am no Slash fan in particular, but AFD is one of the greatest hard rock albums of all time. Slash is a good guitarist, but beyond that he holds no other demigod-like status IMO. I am just not a celebrity worshipper.

And I dont consider this metal.

I guess I was saying Axl was the focus musically and Slash was not a household name or really even known yet. He was "just" the guitarist with the outrageous hat back then that sprawled out over pictures with a whisky bottle in his hand.

I didn't mention that Izzy wrote everything Slash gets credit for. And, if you notice, the industry keeps a real cap on that. That is probably the biggest "do inner" for him if it were to be vastly known by all.

Not trying to be unfair to him, but I really feel for Izzy.

I agree completely, AFD was of the best, and to be honest we have to thank Axl and Izzy for that. They were driving.
