Awkward for a singer when the band's name is another musician in the band. Bet the singer feels he has to downplay is hand constantly so Slash feels like he's holding the high cards that he really isn't. Gravity doesn't favor.

He has endorsement deals with Gibson, Marshall...like an NFL player.
But the fans love him. He's just a regular non pretentious everyday guy.
Some bands need hair doos.
But all he needs - is the hat.... It's instant brand recognition.

He always seemed like a dick to me. He doesnt play any better than 1000s of others and he used to hang with the biggest ass hat of all. Axl. Horrific singer.
Slash is overrated crap IMO.
Couldn't care less how many like him.

I'm really not exactly a fan of Axl either or Guns and Roses etc.
But I marvel at metal guitarist presented by national network TV.
It's remarkable that metal has entered the national interest and attention / popularity sphere of the culture.

Well, Jethro, I guess we can agree to disagree!
While I admit that Axl is a total A-Hole, for various reasons, I am a very big Slash fan. He seems a very personable and humble guy. Maybe in the past, during his drug fueled G’N’R days, he was arrogant. Now that he has matured and is sober, he seems a right decent fella.
