40th high school reunion

53 years for me. Most are dead or in some form of decay!
Besides, I hated high school! :coffee:
All those social buttwads can kiss my ass!

Other than that, whoo hoo!:H5:

Hack, This is too funny. I came on tonight to make a post about my 35th HS reunion I just attended last night and here you post about your 40th. I had such a good time seeing about 100 of our old classmates and believe it or not one friend I had not seen or thought of since graduating came to Baltimore all the way from Wisconsin. The address on his business card is in Augusta WI. Our class had over 600 graduates.
So How was your reunion, Chili?

I hated high school too.
But 40 years later, it's an excuse to get away from the old lady for a couple of days and drink some beer.

HEHE Wade, 53 for you, 35 for me,,,,,,,, like looking in a mirror.
As for social so n so's in my school, I am sure there was some of that, but like the person I am still like here, I could befriend anyone from the fella growing up with no indoor plumbing, to those with terminal cancer diagnosed in Jr High, to those with healthy family lives as well as those like me who were in transitional maturation during dissolution of mom and dad's volatile marriage.

At my first 2 reunions, year 30 and 35, it was great seeing quite a few people I was close to and yet I hoped to and got the chance to "get to know some of the quieter and more shy, studious type" attendees who I remembered but really didn't have in my classes to get to know very well while in school. Hope they had fun and enjoyed our talks.

Hack, I didn't hate school, I actually wished I could have gone to another 3-4 years of high school because there were so many good things to learn that I just didn't have time to fit into 3 years there.

As for how was my reunion, It was GREAT. We had some jerks in our class sure, but we also had a plethora of real good kids and now fun and nice men and sweet women, mothers, fathers, husbands and wives.
Glad to say, no one was a jerk and everyone had a great time last night.

Outstanding. Hoping for a similar experience.

I grew up right between two major cities, Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC - the town I lived in was right between them and one of the biggest urban sprawl areas in the country. Too many people. So the few that I actually liked I stayed in touch with and are still my friends. The rest? Didn't need 'em then, don't need 'em now.

<<<<<<<<<< is working on a guess as to what town Gball is referring to.

Ponders Maryland Urban Sprawl,, Columbia/Ellicott City, Gaithersburg/Germantown, Laurel/Bowie, or nowadays, EVERYWHERE, Md

35th reunion coming up in a few weeks. 40 people out of 780 coming. I've decided, I too am to cool to show up.

WOW Chubbles, you and I had same graduating year, but your class had more @ 780. Too bad you didn't go to my school because you'd have had fun at resunions instead of being too cool. :(:(

I hope those who go to your class reunion have a good time anyway.

Hack, hope it is an enjoyable evening.
Congrats to the rest of you as well for........
well for living this long I guess.

I had friends that I knew from school, but my social life didnt involve the school related events or culture.
I never really fit in.

I'm with Robert on the reunion thing:

I've never attended any of mine....Did not particularly like those people then, have nothing to share with them now...

Kind of funny, just found out 77 people will be attending the reunion for the class of "77"

I never been to a high school reunion in almost 30 years. High school was a fairly good experience for me. My favorite class or course was learning and playing classical guitar. It was very helpful for me in reading music and such. I remember when the teacher left the class to do something a group of fellows started to break out into a blues jam instead of practicing their songs from the book.:dood:

;>)/

Well, the reunion's over.
Had a good trip up to central Wisconsin. Saw lots of old friends and even a relative or two.
Enjoyed my time drinking beer, eating cheese and visiting with my former "classmates".
Also saw several old friends that weren't part of the reunion.

Got to hang with my high school prom date.

Managed not to get too bombed. It was open bar for all the beer.

The weather was great, first few days were in the 70's with nights in the high 40's.
Turned cold and rainy on Saturday and then the temps started dropping.
Sundays high was only in the 40's and I had ice on my rental car windshield yesterday morning, but it was kind of refreshing.
Fall colors were nice to see, as a tropical swamp dweller I haven't seen "fall" in over 30 years.

Glad I did it, glad I went, glad to be home as well.

Glad you had a great time!

Yeah, those sleeve thingies came in quite handy for keeping that northern chill at bay.
And pant's were a must up there. It was downright chilly Monday morning.

Good sleeping weather though, had the windows open every night.

Gonna get some of that here tomorrow night --- they claim upper FORTIES inland here in the swamps!!!!!!!!!!!!
