My 40th high school reunion is in two weeks.
Colby Wisconsin.
I'm kind of looking forward to it.
Been in contact over the years with about six of the 150 people in my graduating class.
My prom date had a 25 year career in the Air Force, a couple of my buds are truck drivers, one's a doctor
one was a school teacher till he passed away recently, one runs an autobody shop, and one runs a bar.
The rest of the class are probably farming or working in cheese factories.
It'll be interesting to see how much folks and the area have changed.

Should be an interesting time. Central Wisconsin in mid October. I'm going to freeze...
I wonder if anyone will have any fresh venison, archery season opened in mid September.

Sounds like fun! I hope you have a great time. Going to chilly I bet.

So where did you fit in? Were you expected to be succesful, a failure, in jail, deceased???
Just curious as I was a long haired punk and everyone suspected the worst for me...but I fooled them all...

Mine is next summer and I'm heading back to Ohio for sure!

I keep in close touch with about a dozen old friends...a couple of my closest have passed...

Not sure what people thought I'd do. When we lived up there, my folks owned a bar / restaurant for several years.
Mom & dad ran it. I worked there as well prepping food, busing tables and cleaning the place every morning.
Some of the people I went to school with worked there as well, waiting tables, dishwashing, cooking.

I wouldn't call myself successful, more of a slacker. I was a mobile heavy equipment mechanic for about 30 years.
I did see the insides of a few police stations, due to a couple of car chases, ruining from the cops. But no real jail time.
I'm glad I survived my foolishness and finally became an adult in the last year or so.:D

I come from a small town and I had a lot of friends...plus everyone in the town knew each other and many of us had been friends since we were old enough to walk...

My town was about 20,000 back then. I could never get close to anybody.

You are fortunate.

I grew up right between two major cities, Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC - the town I lived in was right between them and one of the biggest urban sprawl areas in the country. Too many people. So the few that I actually liked I stayed in touch with and are still my friends. The rest? Didn't need 'em then, don't need 'em now.

We only had 90 kids in our graduating class ---- SMALL town--- most of them are still........stuck........in that SAME SMALL town.........havent been back--- Mom goes and sees friends --- send pics on facebook--- it looks EXACTLY THE SAME (I left in 87) ---so --- by my reckoning--- I still right where they all are and exactly what the town looks like ........though the Mayor now was the brother of a girl I sued to ---uhm---"date" in school.......could be fun leveraging that for some govt. contracts---or bribe money-----she was certainly always FUN to LEVERAGE ;) ;) ;)

I can say I dont think that little town WANTS me to come back ...........I know too much about the "good" folks in charge now.............

Hack, This is too funny. I came on tonight to make a post about my 35th HS reunion I just attended last night and here you post about your 40th. I had such a good time seeing about 100 of our old classmates and believe it or not one friend I had not seen or thought of since graduating came to Baltimore all the way from Wisconsin. The address on his business card is in Augusta WI. Our class had over 600 graduates.
