EVH Iconic el34. Kinda wanted to hear the difference. Not sure if the camera captures like in the room but there are differences, Same riffs on looper Gibson SGJ bridge. Zoom q8 8' out where i basically play from. No levels touched just moved camera direct center to cab at 8'.

1) Marshall AVT 412 slant - Peavey Sheffield 1200 up top & Eminence Swamp Things bottom.
2) Peavey XXX strait- Early Marshall Vintage 30 & t75's - X pattern
3) Fender HM 412 slant - Celestion g12-65 top & K100's bottom
4) Peavey XXX 412 slant - Peavey XXX stock speakers

The winner for me is behind door number 3: Fender HM 412 slant - Celestion g12-65 top & K100's bottom (I think the fourth video is the same one so couldn't listen to the XXX cab). Number 2 sounds shockingly scooped in the mids to me.

Got some good ideas after this,
Going to re group them in 1 video, I was not adjusting anything on these last takes to see if the volume dif in the cabs would come through cause they are def at different levels in the room.

Also kept the loop & going to close mic these for more detail

Then going to do the same 2 ways with my 2x12's & 1x12's

Also the mention by @gball of the v30/t75 cab got me to go listen to them again. Being the only strait cab, the way i have my mic set from my POV is set up for the slant coming upward towards my ears..the strait cab has some blow by it seems & some of the highs & mids seem to be missing, Will have to slight adjust mic angle for strait cab next time,

Here is the same playing as before from looper but Close Mic's cabs now

Wow. I’m gonna be like your mother. When you asked her to choose the best picture for the refrigerator. “They are all nice, dear…” Sorry I’m not much help.

In my heart I choose th V30s. Cuz that’s what I’m running in My DSL100. Warm and cozy I call them. Glad to say I found them similar to the G12s. They should be, right. The v30s are modeled after the G12s? I’m prolly oversimplifying that.

That said, the Eminence pairing packs a desirable punch. And the Peeveys are right there. Like I said. Not much help.

Thanks for listening, so glad saved those early Marshall Velestion Vintage 30's & t75's. My friend was describing the other day they are 'warm", could be age but seems those first runs were a Tad less spikey maybe.

The real interesting observation has been how the individual cab by itself being played is so different vs mix or with other instruments in the room.

Even drums coming in to play along to greatly shows where a cab sits in the low end. Some get lost some get right up in your face. Of course you can change EQ but for these tests was trying to more so show a nuetral amp setting.

Learning a lot by doing this. Def have had way too much low end in my guitars when switching from just free jamming vs recording.

Seems like try to make my guitar a full band on its own lol time to change that for sure.

I am totally guilty of going for the “full band” guitar sound.

That is a valuable lesson to learn.

I liked it with the V30's the most out of those. Cool comparison vids.

I play my 6L6 Iconic through an Orange 412 with H30's/BV25's. Set it for Marshall 800 tones. Love the 5150 Iconics.
Nice speaker combo ya got. , Def got this version for Marshall tones, its like the natural gain have been searching for in them for years, The gain on Chan 1 saturates slowly the whole way up the dial without turning to mush.
