20W amp shootout - the Supro sounds Fuzzfunky...

A nice comparison; much prefer this player to the others on the channel for this kind of comparison.

You wouldn't need to buy a fuzz if you had that Supro and a foot pedal/switch; I liked that.

Nothing that would get me to reach for my wallet there but I do agree that when you wind up the otherwise quite dark sounding Supro it does make a rather interesting "fuzzy" tone.

Agreed-- it DOES -- but -- thats a lot of "scratch" for a 1 trick pony......and though its a nice fuzzy tone-- I think I would get tired of it rather quickly

And I wouldn't be in the market for a combo amp either. It'd be neat as a head if it was the right price maybe. Of the lot though, the Marshall sounded overall the best and they do offer a head version.

I loves me some Marshall tone----- but ---WHILE I EXPECTED to want the VOX------the fave to me was the old standby....FENDER...

I did to thats how I wound up married the first time----wait-- your talking about an amp-- never mind................

I'm sold on Friedman products

I'm sure you're right, but we're talking apples and oranges here... The amps in the video cost less than half of the Friedmans.

All of the amps in the video have something to offer; I like a barking P90 through a fuzzy sounding amp - others hate that (I believe "it sounds like a blown speaker" is the opinion of many...).

I thought the Runt 20 was a deal I spent a day trying out amps And the next night that little Runt held it's own on stage
with two custom amps I built cost $15,000.00 in parts plus labor I played drums that night.
Yes my amps sounded way better but the little Runt 20 got the job done most important my Sister in law likes it.

I'm sure the runt is lovely, but $1300 is a decent bit of dollar compared with some half-decent sounding 20w amps. The law of diminishing returns just works differently for folks depending on usage, finances, etc - if you're a performing musician making $ then spending more on an amp can be justified over time for sure.

I got that Runt in Auckland NZ it was more like $1800.00 USD. Price is not the issue We took the guitar I gave her and tried out amps and the Runt 20 was the winner.
My close friend Jai from North Korea carves Jade Jai paid $2,000,000.00 for a piece of Jade I don't know anything about Jade he sells to Chinese and they love Jade.
I repair the amps for my local music store and the China made amps they sell 40% dead out of the box new not good.
Playing in the band is my sport

I totally get what you are saying but I tend to look at these things a bit differently: In my experience and from watching what friends have done over the years I have come to believe, strongly, that in cases like this the Friedman is the much better long-term value. You will buy it once and keep it indefinitely, because it sounds amazing and is built to a World-class level. With the compromise of buying a "half-decent sounding" amp you will still be tone-hunting and it won't be long before "half-decent" turns into "not good enough" and you'll be looking to flip for something better. There's that old adage 'The Cheap Man Pays Twice' and I honestly believe, after hanging around musicians for the past 40 years, that it applies two-fold when talking about music gear.
