Just kicking this around...not sure which look I prefer...

I don't like the look of uncovered humbuckers, particularly on a batwing. I also don't like the way a bridge pickup noodles around with the batwing. So I voted covered with bridge 'ring.

Thanks Robert. It's a Dragonfire version of a bucker sized P90, they call it an H90.
Basically just a single coil, surrounded in wax.

But it did sound good for what it is.

Sold it about a year ago.

I don't know why, but I just cannot seem to bond with my SG, but it looks like I am stuck with it....so might as well make it sound better....I'm shooting for more of Vivian Campbell's Holy Diver tone...

If it were my guitar, I'd go option 3. The only guitars I like with Covered humbuckers are Prs's. Gibson Standards, Gibson ES guitars and other Jazz box types from other makers.

I voted No. 2. I simply prefer the look of covers on SG's & the ring, aside from looking better by covering the gaps, levels the pickup relative to the strings. Double blacks with rings would look good too though. Cheers

Forgive me for my prejudice but for me and SG's, I sort of think a Special ( dot neck) looks best with Uncovered or P90's, while the Trapezoid or Block inlay ones look best with Covered pups. Just my .02

I'm always open to differing viewpoints....I think an SG or a LP just seem to look "right" with covers....Trim ring, I'm not sure about just yet...

Robert, my 1st SG is a real oddity,,,,,,,,, It has NO Pickguard,,,,,,,, NO Covers, no poker chip, and no 2nd tone knob.
As for accessorizin, it has the Trim rings only and is ALLLLL BLLLLLAAAACCCCCKKKK

Ray, I wonder why they didn't put that neck pickup tight to the neck instead of making that 1 off type pickup ring? It is a cool looking ring, but I still wonder why. PS. That has always been one of the sickest SG's I have seen.
