2016 Gibson 50's Tribute Les Paul

UPDATE:

I went with a 525kΩ CTS pot so I could retain the Gibson 24 spline knobs. I also got such a ridiculous deal on these bumblebees that I couldn't turn them down...and entire harness, CTS audio taper 525kΩ pots, Gavitt cloth wire with steel overbraid shield, Switchcraft Jack and Switch, with .022uf Gibson Bumblebees for $125.00 shipped...

So, trying to figure out which switch I need. Using the "ashtray," I'm assuming long switch, so the more we keep talking, the more this harness evolves.

Now, we are ditching the Gibson bumblebees for Emerson PIO bumblebees.

Apparently, while the Gibson's look like a bumblebee, they are in fact Mylar and not PIO like the originals.

I can almost guarantee you’ll need the short switch.

I’m not at home now, but can post a pic later showing the long switch next to a Les Paul.

You’ll see what I mean.

Here is the long switchcraft switch inside the cavity on my 2012 traditional.WP_20180415_001.jpg WP_20180415_002.jpg
The top of the switch is 0.271" below the recessed face of the switch cavity (that the cover sits on)WP_20180415_003.jpg measured with the depth gauge on the vernier. Hope this helps. Cheers

Edit; the long switch is the stock item. Cheers

Ok, (I'll post this in the right thread now). So I looked online rather than dig out spare parts to find a long & short switch. This is what I found.C__Data_Users_DefApps_AppData_INTERNETEXPLORER_Temp_Saved Images_ep-4367-dia.jpg C__Data_Users_DefApps_AppData_INTERNETEXPLORER_Temp_Saved Images_ep-4066-dia.jpg
As you can see the long switch has 5mm length of threaded portion, while the short switch has 9mm. When using a long switch in an LP you need to use a "deep recessed" type nut, like thisC__Data_Users_DefApps_AppData_INTERNETEXPLORER_Temp_Saved Images_ep4923-001_2.jpg
Not sure if its needed with the short switch as I've not used one on an LP. Hope this helps. Cheers
