1982:

here is Lyrics to Aisia...Heat of the Moment

always think of1982 when i hear it

And now you find yourself in eighty two
The disco hot spots hold no charm for you
You can't concern yourself with bigger things
You catch the pearl and ride the dragon's wings

Always dug that tune. I had a Pioneer Super Tuner II, a pair of Pioneer TS-6906 three-way speakers and a lighted Jet Sound EQ. We use to crank that album in my 69 Dodge Charger.

I passed a sleeping CHP officer who was parked where the B-17 Bomber is now
located on Highway 99 & Avenue 200 in Tulare, California with the speedo pegged at 150mph.
The officer claimed a 'pursuit' and 'evading' to the judge, but then admitted he drove behind
me at a great distance for 10 miles before I exited on Tulare Avenue without lights or siren because
of my lead on him. The case was tossed out.

I was also a Junior in ‘82, in my first band and drove an old American car (1970 Cutlass), but for me there is absolutely no love lost for the ‘80’s.

I had my share of fun but it was not a decade I look back on fondly. The fashion was terrible, not much exciting going on in music, cold war still on, economy just starting to crawl out of a terrible recession, worst of all Ronald Reagan pretending to be president. I wouldn’t want to go back for anything other than maybe another chance at youth.

I can respect that.

I loved every second of the 1980's. We had the fastest cars in town, played in a metal band, had a perfect life at home, it was a decade of the best times. Even when my wife left me with our 2 year old Son in 1988, it was still a great era for me...I didn't care about politics, who was in the White House, what the Russians were doing, all I wanted was to rock and roll all night and party every day...and WE DID!!!!

Ahh...1982, I was 22! I got stationed in Korea and started running the bars in the small town of Songtan. Korea was still 3rd world. I chased a lot of tail, drank a ton of beer and eventually met my wife after
getting the tail chasing out of my system...well let's say under control. I'm sure I partied at least 300 of the 365 days I was there...maybe more. What a blast for a young Ohio kid who had been with approximately 4 girls prior to the assignment. That number went up X10 real quick!

In 82 I was 23 and living in my parents basement.
The only guitar I had was a mid 70's Epiphone acoustic with added pickup.
I was a mobile equipment mechanic, so I had a work supplied van to abuse.
My daily driver was a 1950 Chevy 1/2 ton.

My hair was longer than it is now, I also weighed about 40lbs. less.
All in all it was a good time in my life with the exception of my grandmother then my mother's passing both within a month.
But life goes on.
Still have the Epiphone & still have the wife 37 years later.
