$19 per month GAS

So it's going to work with me tomorrow and straight back to GC to exchange for a brand new in the box, never been touched by GC customer hands.

Sorry about that, Wav, but sure it'll work out and the new one will be even nicer. At least you know it plays and sounds just as you like.

I don't blame you one bit and this is why I rarely if ever buy at a big box store. They always try and tell me the one on the wall is the only one.
No original box, no paperwork and the abuse of every young punk that's come in and dicked around with the guitar....oh and they want FULL Price!

I just took Bird back to GC. While I was in the process of returning it, some klutz was trying to hang a strat back on the wall and knocked 4 more down crashing to the floor. I turned to the sales guy doing my return and told him "that's why I want a new one in a box."

So the warehouse did not have any more in stock. None of the stores had a new one still in the box. The warehouse won't have any more until mid August. I received a store credit so I won't lose the 48 month interest free financing and now the wait is on. Tic... Tic... Tic...

Call Sweetwater...I have NEVER received anything less than stellar from them...Always new and untouched merchandise.

Well the frets are babies butt smooth, no sharp ends at all. The action is low with no buzz. Crank the volume to 8+ and it has a nice crunchyness... but here is a news flash...

It's going back to GC tomorrow after work. I wiped it all down tonight after playing it and discovered some scratches that I had not noticed at the store. If I had paid for a used guitar, I would expect a few imperfections. But this is the most I've ever paid for a guitar, over twice what I paid for Burla brand new. I've bought used guitars in better condition, case in example the Agile I purchased from Adrian. I want a BRAND new, in the box, never been through the GC abuse of people not being as careful as if it was their own guitar. If I have an expensive guitar with scratches, I wanna be kicking myself in the ass for putting those scratches there. I don't wanna be kicking myself in the ass for buying a new guitar that came with scratches. I don't want someone else's sloppy seconds. You buy a new car and drive it off the lot and it loses 1/2 it's value. I did not get this for 1/2 price so I don't want to get 1/2 the value. Also there was no paper work from PRS for the warranty, there was no box to ship it in if I ever need to ship it in the future. So it's going to work with me tomorrow and straight back to GC to exchange for a brand new in the box, never been touched by GC customer hands. I don't want to sniff a cork that someone else has licked.

End of review.

I despise buying from GC. Unfortunately, they've taken up a monopoly on several guitar, and amp lines in my area. They've driven the small stores from carrying certain lines, and competing with them...if those small stores have managed to stay in business over the last decade. There are a few still around here, but they carry different lines than they did 5-10 years ago. The former Gibson/Marshall dealer now carries a lot of Reverend, Orange, and Vox...amongst other things.
My last purchase at GC was my SG Standard P90, and I demanded it be in a sealed box from Gibson, or no deal. This was after trying out around a dozen random guitars from Gibson, Epiphone, PRS, Fender, Squier, and Schecter one afternoon, and liking the set up on 1...yes one guitar in the store.(I'm still kinda disappointed that I didn't grab that one...it was a blue Pawn Shop Series Mustang, and it played fantastically.)
Point is, plenty of shop wear, and who knows what goes on during their "set up" process, in that particular store at least...I don't even like to go in there anymore, and what they sell is not "new".

I buy pre-damaged.....that way I dont have to worry about that impending "first ding" ;)

I know EXACTLY what you're on about. I look after all of my stuff but have a couple of guitars that when I bump I don't quickly examine because they're tools to use. Unfortunately I have some that don't get used as they should because I think too much of them. I'm nuts!

I started with your man at sweetwater. He is the one that suggested I check out a prs. I sent an email to him asking about the prs model and price matching, but he did not get back to me.
