I was really tempted to do a cool color on my 50 watt cab, but I am glad I stuck with the black and gold.
 
FYI - I haven't built an amp from a kit. I like to piece them together, so I get what I want. I've used chassis from both Triode and Valvestorm. They are both nice. Valvestorm has nicer turret boards, but if you use different brand board and chassis you will probably have to redrill the stand off holes. I get most of my caps and resistors from Tube Depot and Classic tone trannies. I get the upgrade versions if offered which are supposed to run cooler. They offer different leads for running tube rectifier versus diode rectifier.

Looks like the MG Chemicals 'Carbon Conductive Grease' can only be found online. But better yet, at the local hardware store, I found the exact product recommended to me by John of V2 Amps: Gardner Bender's Ox-Gard. 1oz tube for $6...

I'm torn - to be honest - because I can buy a brand new 20 watt JCM 800 head for $1,200.00 / that has an FX loop built in...

The only disadvantage I see is the PCB. If something fails, you need a new board, but PTP is repairable...

Use the Metroamp effects loop instead.
The Mojo has had a lot of bad reviews. Complaints of muddy overload distortion etc.

You're right.
The kits are expensive and won't be able to re-sell for very much. I gotta say that the kits are pretty steep in price for what you actually get.
A Marshall Studio Vintage will hold a better value.
The only advantage to a kit is if you want to learn tube amp building etc.

If I want to build something, I look for an old amp that's not working. Then I get the parts a lot cheaper.
Like for example, PV Windsor has potential and it's a really cheap amp I could buy.
Not that I really want a PV but that's an example of how you get all the parts and the cabinet for a really low price.

I'm not hung up on fancy transformers etc.
I used to build amps from old Bogan PA heads.
