12" 16ohm Speakers:

I must clarify my gain setting for heavier music or Sabbath songs. This 12 oclock to 3 or 4 oclock is for a PAF specked pick up. Just what ive experienced is the high gain pups tend to just wash out there clarity with real high gain amp settings, why i like to stick with around the PAF specked pups. can crank more gain to them with out them losing there clarity.

Would love to hear details!

(I'm taking my VS265 to tonight's rehearsal)

It's pretty much what you've observed with yours. I don't run the gain on my red channel past 1:00 or 2:00. Too much beyond that and it starts to get a little fizzy. I can run the volume on the clean (green) channel about halfway. I can run it higher if using a lower output guitar, like my Strat. On the red channel, I can run the volume at about 3:00, but no higher. Keep in mind, I don't always run the controls this way, but this is about the max I go to avoid excessive noise.

Interesting! That's consistent with my DSL40C...and opposite of my old VS265 which gets bigger, fuller and rounder the more you push it.
