10k Petrucci geetar

Not my thing looks-wise, but I have played a regular Majesty and it was jaw-dropping good.

Honestly, if they were more affordable I would probably have one. The only thing that holds me back is it wouldn't be my main axe even at that price, so just a bit too dear for what I would use it for.

For the most part I find it hard to believe that it would sound or play any better at 10 grand than it would a heavily modded $500.00 guitar. I'll take my partscasters.

I agree. I’m guessing the rubies and diamonds do not add any sonic qualities.

No, but the standard version (around $3500 if I recall) is a tone monster. And built better than any $500 guitar by several orders of magnitude. Def worth the money if the style is right for what you are doing.

I like Uli Jon Roth's guitar with sort of a blue ruby stone on the upper horn. Looks pretty cool in my opinion.

I have a John P pick? does that make me sound like JP?
Honestly--- the older I get the more I hear players LIKE PEtrucci ---and I can APPRECIATE the speed and talent and all --- but --- and dont get me wrong ///I like Sach and Vai and Malmsteen et all-and I was a firm advocate for SPEED METAL at its BIRTH --- -- speed is "interesting"--- but to my ear it lacks a certain SOUL or heart---- or something --- talent displayed for the sheer display of talent does not good listening music make---- I cant tap my foot to it--- ........

eh maybe its just me

I am right there with ya. I do admire the speed and all, but there is no heart and soul.
Its the heart and soul that talks to your inner emotions when it come to music . . . that is my 2 cents.

I'm sorry, and I have to personally defend Satriani and Vai on these soul-less claims. Besides their displays of rapid fire pyrotechnics, when I hear these two, I hear lots of soul and emotions. There's an amazing amount of beautiful phrasing and melodies in their lead and rythym playing. I also regard both of these guys as magicians on guitar.

I tend to forget to breathe when I watch this one:

Definitely an Alien from another world:

I agree with the skill pyrotechnics rapid fire talent and I have ENJOYED Vai since --- well since I first saw him in the movie with the Karate Kid---
of the lot mentioned I enjoy Vais playing the most and again being honest--his commercialized stuff ---collaborative efforts with Roth and others I enjoy more .....perhaps its when he "dumbs it down" for a broader audience --- I like it---

Their skill is immense
talent is un worldy
and they are truly guitar GODZ

I just cant sit and listen to 3 hours of them -----like I can say --- Lynnrd Skynnrd.......

Look I feel the same way about Joe Bonomassassatater --- :)
