The Great Jeff Healy passed away. He was recognized by many in the World of Musicians as one of the best. It was said he was up there with Hendrix, Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn. His guitar playing was sensational. He is muchly missed we lost not just a guitar player, we also lost an incredible human being.

Jeff Healy was an amazing musician with a very unique guitar playing technique. I miss him, too. Did you know that he also had a big love for old-style jazz. Could also play trumpet and piano. Never heard any of his Jazz comps, though.
Yup... One of my favorites... :yesway:
FYI: Jeff's second guitarist who flat out rips on the first solo is Philip Sayce

Yep Sysco he used to incorporate Jazz into some of his Blues music, He oozed of Talent and he had his own unique style. I know I miss him! Also like you say he played Trumpet and Piano. He is an Inspiration to me, and out of any Musician that has had an effect on me playing guitar, is this Man.

I saw Jeff Healy live in 1989 at the Ontario Place rotating stage theatre in Toronto...it was an amazing show and he played great. I've also been to "Healy's" his bar and restaurant quite a few times in Toronto when it was Bathurst St. originally but moved to Blue Jays Way where I also went. He is a true guitar icon and I like him much better than Joe Bonamassa who is a bit smug about himself while Jeff was a totally different person. Here's a great live performance of him playing with Dr. John.
