Great video. I don’t necessarily agree on all of his choices, but it is what it is. All the bassists interviewed are excellent musicians.
 
Recorded on Jazz today..back n forth, P & Jazz all the time. The speed is def on the Jazz & that real tight--predictable--reliable bottom on the P. Prob like bass better than guitar & the mix will always respect the bass -singer & drum..then we worry but the other thing with the xtra 2 strings. sometimes miss going to the studio & having bass tracks to do. They go so quick tho,

I totally get the difference between a p and a j. So much so that I’m serIously considering re-routing the front pickup cavity of my j for a p pup.

Cool, My cousin has a PJ bass..what a tone monster it is. He does a lot of jazz & Jaco stuff in his band & then when he works with us he has that Growl. He has 70's P American also that i love to record. Its a heavy bugger but it is deep & clear. Pretty interesting..i rate him very advanced, Pro session player, funk, started on the upright at about 9 years old & been in many Jazz bands & orchestras and after all the basses..he had the warwicks, fedora, alembic ect & he now has 3 & they are all Fender, Jazz. P & PJ is what he kept, probably after going through well over 100 of em over the years.
