Since the start of the pandemic I had not tested positive or shown any signs of contracting this stupid virus.

Yesterday afternoon I started feeling run down, aching muscles and joints, headache, last night chills and my temperature is 100 even. Took a home test and it confirmed it.

I can now be added to the COVID statistics.

I was going to schedule myself for a booster shot next weekend, but it looks like I won’t have to.

Man, I am so sorry. It sucks, not going to lie to you one bit. Just keep an eye out for any breathing issues and if you do start to have some problems, schedule a visit to your doctor and get some steroids to open your passage ways up. In the meantime, just rest the best you can, take you some Tylenol for the fever and keep well hydrated. Now that the aches and fever have already begun, usually takes about no more than 3 days in hell and then things should begin to ease up for you

I had the Delta strain when it came knocking, then about 10 months later took a trip with the Omicron strain. I guess where Delta kicked me as hard as it did, the Omicron one wasn't nearly as bad, just tired and headaches all the time. But I know it got the better of a lot people and beat on them pretty bad.

Wife and son just got over this latest version a few weeks ago. Son did good but it beat on my wife pretty terribly. She still has some after effects, namely making her fall asleep ridiculously easy
 
Barbarian Bob does not submit to axe, arrow, spear or sword!!!! However too much strong drink, bad meat or diseased concubine may have small effect on his ability to rape pillage & burn.

Will extend ten day Guitar Duel challenge to 20 days if required. Suggest a 1/2 cup slurry of raw garlic and whisky in a small bag tied over your manhood parts for three days. That'll fix you.

Yeah that's a fair deal. I was gonna deliberately hold up my submission out of decency until our buddy here was feeling better honestly. Its gonna be a bomb for me regardless lol
 
Take care man. First few days seem to be the worst. Good friend tested pos bit over a week ago, he didn't tell me if he knew what magic strain got him. Kicked his butt the first couple days. Has now tested neg, so he's good to go..... but about 1/2 way thru his deal, his wife tested pos. Sometimes ya can't win for lose.

That's what's aggravating: you get it, you try to avoid giving it and it still happens right when you come out the other side. Or even more aggravating: you got it and don't realize it and you already spread it early on. That's what my son did from school and then attended my wife's cousins wedding the next day. Hit 3 others before anyone realized it. Only reason we knew he had it was he had pink eye the following day, took him to the doctor and they red flagged him. Apparently that's a major symptom now in kids with this new one. Wife got it and both her parents but me and my daughter somehow dodged it
 
My house as well have not had the virus yet. My wife, son and I have been able to avoid it. We are pretty diligent about wearing a mask in busy public spaces and don't go out much. I thought not going out would be a bit of a social shock to the system, but honestly, every time we go out, we are reminded how much we hate people. :D

This virus has been mind boggling. Sometime you can figure out where and why ya got it. Other times you don’t even have a guess. And there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme nor reason why one gets it and the other doesn’t.

Example. My wife retired from teaching June 2022. Following Monday we headed out for a weeks vacation to celebrate. Got home on Friday night. She tested pos Saturday morning. She doesn’t know if she got exposed last day of school or while we were in WI. But the crazy thing. We spent a week together… multiple hours in a car. Obviously motel room with one bed. Shared each others wine and cheese samples. 100% chance I was exposed. Zip. Nadda. Didn’t get it. And haven’t the entire time this virus has been in existence. Every other member of my family has had it. A couple have had it twice. Crazy.

Absolutely. It's odd as it gets and has no pattern or set rules. I caught it each time from two different coworkers who each time, were only around me about 3hrs maximum and we weren't really working that close together to begin with. Yet, the first time I was sleeping right beside my wife before I tested positive and she got nothing. When she caught it this time? Two nights I slept beside her and we even kissed at her cousin's wedding: nothing. That's what never makes sense to me.

They say you can catch it in 15 minutes if you are in room with person that has it.

I had it twice; essentially just a gnarly cold, first round was a bit more rough than the second, but gnarly nonetheless.. I say that as a person who is generally healthy otherwise though.

Interestingly, I haven't even so much as caught a cold since then. Makes me wonder if having caught it twice has given me some sort of immunity to other coronaviruses, like some the ones that just cause a cold? That wouldn't explain not having caught something rhinovirus-based though
Heck, I dunno.
