I tend to be a frustrated wanna be drummer. My feet and my hands don’t communicate with each other. I can kick the drum. I can bang the floor toms…… I cannot do it at the same time. It’s that chewing gum and walking thing. Or in the guitarist world. Playing and singing at the same time. I can sing. I can play the guitar….. just not at the same time.

When I got my first drum kit set it up left handed my drum teacher OH Hell No if you ever go to a jam night it will mess you up
and he demanded I play double bass one more point was hearing protection now what I don't see is the number one drum
the snare drum. When I get a new or used drum set remove heads inspect hardware bearing edges and hoops if good replace all drum heads.
next hardware I use Drum Workshop 9000 series since 1996 held up well the cheap hardware fails fast the only part on the DW I have had to
replace is the ball bearing hinge on the bass peddles and hi hat stand DW drum throne it gets worse cases for drums and hardware and spare parts
extra heads stick bag one thing DW is not good at is making a snare drum they look nice but don't tune well cheap stamped steel hoops.
after playing my snare drums with cast hoops they tune fast and hold a tune.

That’s me too ! What I really admire is a drummer that sings ! Damn, they can run 5 brains at the same time.

Years ago when my youngest was in HS (graduated 01)….. he was playing trombone and was in a HS District Honors band in Peoria ILL. Sitting next to his band director…. Who was also a trombone player. Who were the two of us watching play….. not the student. Not the offspring. We were both grooving to the percussion section.

When the band/orchestra has 5-10 people in the persuasion section, it is a coordinated and impressive dance. And as a musician. Fun to watch.

I can chew bubble gum and stinker at the same time, but it makes smelly bubbles!
